    FAQ’s

Ultimate Pools answers the most frequently asked questions about building a pool.

Ultimate Pools answers some of the most popular questions asked by customers about purchasing a pool and the pool construction process. Please click on the question box to reveal and hide the answer.

Where do I start in selecting the right pool builder?

Interview your prospective builder carefully. What is his reputation? Have you seen any of his work? Do you know a friend or neighbor who has used the same company with good results? What is his standing with the local Building Department and the Better Business Bureau? Do you feel he will treat your property with respect? At Ultimate Pools, customer service is our first priority for our entire staff. We believe our expertise in construction, our experience in all type of challenges is not matched in the pool industry.

Why do estimates from companies vary when pools seem to be the same?

Many factors, such as size, water features, decking, etc. create the total construction cost of your backyard paradise. Other important factors that effect your cost are not visible on a printed quote. If craftsmanship, quality materials, design, underground strength and durability, customer service, prompt construction, and outstanding warranties are important to you, then Ultimate Pools should be your contractor. Always remember you will get what you pay for!

How should I choose the design for my pool?

At your request, our designer will meet you at your home to discuss your pool needs and desires. You will be asked questions such as how you intend to use your pool, and where is your main focal point viewed from? Your input from this interview will help us prepare a truly custom design to fit your needs as well as your budget.

How long does it take to build a pool?

There are two phases in pool building: processing and construction. Processing consists of engineering plans and obtaining a building permit. Depending on the time of year, this phase usually takes two weeks. The construction phase usually takes six to eight weeks from the time the permit is obtained to completion of the pool unless there are delays outside of Ultimate Pools control, such as rain, material shortages, or customer changes to the plans.

We lead very busy lives. Do we have to be home during construction of our pool?

There will only be a few times which you must be home during construction: the day the swimming pool is excavated and the day(s) the electrician and gas people are there. You will also need to water down the gunite structure 2 to 3 times a day for about 7 days, as well as be there to turn the water off after the pool is filled to the mid-tile line.

What additional options are available to add to my pool?

Whatever you can imagine, it is out there. There are Saline Generators, multi-colored LED lighting, remote controls, interior finishes, gas heaters, heat pumps, automatic covers and the list goes on and on. We will be more than happy to discuss the options at our in-house interview.

How much work is involved in owning and caring for a swimming pool?

With the installation of the high rate sand filter, automatic chlorinator or saline generator, and the full rated pump, and with the help of an automatic pool cleaner, you can look to spend about ten to fifteen minutes a week in caring for your pool.

    What about warranties?

At Ultimate Pools, we provide you with documented warranties for each product on your pool. We are confident in the pools we build, and we offer a warranty that backs up our confidence. You should also remember that a warranty is only as good as the company that issues it. We build our pools to last, and we will be here to stand behind your swimming pool in the future. Warranties are very, very important.
